I don’t know how other’s feel about this, but I always feel a bit odd wearing a camera around my neck with a long lens protruding at right angles from my body or, in the alternative position, with the lens pointing down and bouncing on the belly. Allusions aside (…please!), I don’t like to look like the typical cartoon tourist or a photographer when in public, and I usually carry my camera with the strap wrapped around my right wrist with the camera secure in my hand and  my arm relaxed along my side. I feel less obtrusive this way and at the same time the camera is ready for quick action when I need it. This is fine when you don’t need the use of that hand, but it becomes awkward when you need both your hands for another purpose, such as clapping or fending off pick-pockets or  over ardent admirers. Today I received an advertisement from Vistek that reveals a product that may solve my problem. It is called the BlackRapid R-Strap and it works like this:

Has anyone had experience with this strap? I would like to hear some opinions, or if that fails, perhaps BlackRapid could send me one to review…;)
